Rudolf the red nose reindeer
I'm back!
And just in time for
Thanksgiving, huh? :)
I remember having a Thanksgiving post last year,
and we had uhm.. Pizza, chips, stuff.
[
Hazy..]
But this year, I wanted to be more traditional.
So I referred to
Wiki [
Click!],
[
Cause that's where you go for accuracy.]
and found out that the pilgrims had
wheat, vegetables, fowl, berries, nuts and the like.
[
Which I couldn't get, hence, the like.]
*cough*Anyway,
I forwent with the turkey this year,
because we'll probably have a huge one on Christmas.
And my family couldn't possibly finish the bird on our own.
[
More for the bird's sake, than ours.]
So I went for
variety.

Above, we've got farmer's bread [
Heh. Apt.],
boiled broccoli and baby carrots,
a bowl of gravy for the mashed potatoes,
some cheeses [
Camembert and something else..]
and the soup's pumpkin soup.
Cause we all know that aside from Halloween,
where else can you really use a
pumpkin?
[
So does this explain why Thanksgiving is associated with orange too? :x]
[
Heh. Everything's in orange nowadays.]

Above, we've got honey-baked,
apple-baked and black pepper ham,
pepperoni salami and roast beef.
Good eating, it was.
[
But in hindsight, too much food. )' w '( ]

Finally, the berries and nuts section.
We've got black, blue and strawberries,
and cherry tomatoes.
Eh.. The nuts, lemme try to figure it out.
*squints*Cashews, almonds, hazelnuts,
dried apricots and cranberries,
walnuts, more almonds..
Yupp! I think that's it!

And who can forget the cranberry juice? :)[
Well, I prefer cranberry sauce,
but juice is easier to get.]

This is more or less, the final setup.
I think I've outdone myself this year. :D
...
I'm sorry, guys.
I know I'm behind on a lot of things,
and there's lots of food posts.
But I just love cooking now, atm.
At least, before I leave for Brazil,
I would like to cook for my family,
so they won't forget that there's a blood member in another continent altogether. -__-
[I don't think they'll forget me.... Will they?]
Hmmm..
The coming days will be busy.
On Saturday,
I've got to learn some new songs for church.
And next week's the conference,
[From the 1st - 3rd Dec]
so I've got some [future] friends from Melbourne,
[I say future, because we're not friends yet.]
[But we will be. I hope.]
flying in to attend the conference,
and they'll be living in my house.
So.. Yeah, that will keep me pretty busy.
[I'm just glad it wasn't like last year,
whence I had to juggle exams and people staying over simultaneously.]
And then.. Right after the conference,
I'll be flying back to Japan.
..But I'll talk more about that later.
[And also, why I'm flying so much.]
[I hope I can come up with a reasonable explanation then.]
This Sunday,
I've got to teach a bunch of kiddos too.
Anyone got any ideas on how to drain a kid's energy? :S
[Lool, I sound like a paedo.]
Ah.. It's late!
[I sound like the White Rabbit from Wonderland.]
Oh, oh! Right.
Before I go,
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!
And may all your turkey wishes come true. :)
BYE!
