So I had my Graduation ceremony yesterday.
Hmm.. Before that,
I had to register.. And order my gown..
And pick it up.. [
Which wasn't near.]

Tickets were expensive too. ):
[
Which is why I say that it's a pain.]

Somehow, I managed to get my sister and mum to go.

So on that day.. [
Yesterday.]
We were in a rush,
and I was late in registering my pass..
I had to robe myself too,
and all the time, I was thinking..
"Let's get this done with. Quick, QUICK, QUICK!! URGH!"

But as I got out of the changing room,
my mum waved towards me and insisted on taking lots of pictures.
I could see that she was proud of me,
and to confirm my presumptions,
she leaned in and whispered before we sat down in our allocated seats,
that she was so proud of me.

And I was stunned. Really.

Because to me, it's no big deal.
I'm just doing it to cancel it off my bucket list.
[
Don't wanna tell my kids/grandkids in the future that I missed graduation, y'know?]

But she seemed to take the whole thing seriously,
and after we were separated,
[
Guests and Graduands are to seat separately]
she texted me, saying that she was so proud of me [
again],
and that she had just realised that I was much taller than her.

And I felt like I was in a movie.
Y'know, like one of them tear-jerkers.
And the parent suddenly realises how much their kid's grown.

It made me feel awkward.

But after the whole thing,
I guess... It's not as bad as I thought it would be.
And I'm really thankful that I have family who support me.

I feel blessed.

Moving on,
my future friends from Melbourne flew in today.
[
Oh yeah, 4 more people to add to the list.]

The conference is only on Thursday,
so I had the opportunity of bonding with them over a dinner of hotpot tonight,
and a day and half of bringing them around.

I'm glad that we can get along alright. :)

So things are all fine and dandy now..
With the sun shining through the clouds,
[
It's night time.]
and you know everything's gonna be just fine.
[
Till conference, at least.]

Well!
Early day tomorrow!

I'll see you tomorrow? Maybe? :)

Not my hands, lol

Guess what guys?

I went prawning for the first time today! :D

If you don't know what that is,
you basically use the word the same way as 'fishing'.
So instead of catching fish,
you're catching prawns.

And I've always thought like,
..Why would anyone wanna catch prawns a single at a time.
I mean, they're kinda small as compared to fishes.
[It seems more practical to just use a net, right?]

So today, when my family went for it,
I was all prepared to tag along and be a spectator.

Expecting that it would bore my mind out,
I brought Sherlock Holmes with me.

He's cool. :)

Anyway,
I just tried it out for a bit,
and I got hooked. :S
[Bad pun intended.]

Idk, there's just something about prawning.
It's like you're playing mind games with the prawn,
and you can see it in your mind moving in the water,
planning its next move,
[or is it just me?]
thus it becomes exciting.
[Congratulations, I've just proven that I'm psychotic.]

With two rods, we caught ten prawns in three hours.
And I know it sounds a tad little,
[It is.]
but the excitement's all in the hunt, y'know?

So this was the most exciting part of my day,
and if you ever get the chance to prawn,
GO FOR IT! :)

Rudolf the red nose reindeer

I'm back!
And just in time for Thanksgiving, huh? :)

I remember having a Thanksgiving post last year,
and we had uhm.. Pizza, chips, stuff.
[Hazy..]

But this year, I wanted to be more traditional.
So I referred to Wiki [Click!],
[Cause that's where you go for accuracy.]
and found out that the pilgrims had

wheat, vegetables, fowl, berries, nuts and the like.
[Which I couldn't get, hence, the like.]

*cough*

Anyway,
I forwent with the turkey this year,
because we'll probably have a huge one on Christmas.
And my family couldn't possibly finish the bird on our own.
[More for the bird's sake, than ours.]

So I went for variety.

Above, we've got farmer's bread [Heh. Apt.],
boiled broccoli and baby carrots,
a bowl of gravy for the mashed potatoes,
some cheeses [Camembert and something else..]
and the soup's pumpkin soup.

Cause we all know that aside from Halloween,
where else can you really use a pumpkin?
[So does this explain why Thanksgiving is associated with orange too? :x]
[Heh. Everything's in orange nowadays.]

Above, we've got honey-baked,
apple-baked and black pepper ham,
pepperoni salami and roast beef.

Good eating, it was.
[But in hindsight, too much food. )' w '( ]

Finally, the berries and nuts section.
We've got black, blue and strawberries,
and cherry tomatoes.
Eh.. The nuts, lemme try to figure it out.

*squints*

Cashews, almonds, hazelnuts,
dried apricots and cranberries,
walnuts, more almonds..

Yupp! I think that's it!

And who can forget the cranberry juice? :)

[Well, I prefer cranberry sauce,
but juice is easier to get.
]

This is more or less, the final setup.

I think I've outdone myself this year. :D

...

I'm sorry, guys.
I know I'm behind on a lot of things,
and there's lots of food posts.

But I just love cooking now, atm.
At least, before I leave for Brazil,
I would like to cook for my family,
so they won't forget that there's a blood member in another continent altogether. -__-
[I don't think they'll forget me.... Will they?]

Hmmm..
The coming days will be busy.

On Saturday,
I've got to learn some new songs for church.
And next week's the conference,
[From the 1st - 3rd Dec]
so I've got some [future] friends from Melbourne,
[I say future, because we're not friends yet.]
[But we will be. I hope.]
flying in to attend the conference,
and they'll be living in my house.

So.. Yeah, that will keep me pretty busy.
[I'm just glad it wasn't like last year,
whence I had to juggle exams and people staying over simultaneously.
]

And then.. Right after the conference,
I'll be flying back to Japan.

..But I'll talk more about that later.
[And also, why I'm flying so much.]
[I hope I can come up with a reasonable explanation then.]

This Sunday,
I've got to teach a bunch of kiddos too.

Anyone got any ideas on how to drain a kid's energy? :S
[Lool, I sound like a paedo.]

Ah.. It's late!
[I sound like the White Rabbit from Wonderland.]

Oh, oh! Right.
Before I go,

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!
And may all your turkey wishes come true. :)

BYE!

Hey guys!
Whew, it's finally 15th November,
so media fast is finally over!

However, we're entering into a period of food fast now,
[Honestly, this is easier for me.]
and we're fasting one meal a day.

Anyway,
I'm currently in Hong Kong,
[I know, BIG SHOCKER.]
just got here, in fact.

I came with my mum, sister and cousin,
and since my mum's working,
I'll have to take care of the kiddos.

We'll be heading to Disneyland,
which is at Lantau Island or something.

Hopefully, it'll be good.

I know what you guys are thinking,
so I'll preempt you with this.

My sister is 18, and my cousin, 15.

*cough*

Well,
I be leaving now.

They're pestering me. Lol

Maybe I'll see you guys later,
if I can use the laptop.

:)

Idk why, Hong Kong must always be in orange to me.

*shrugs*
