1ST OF DECEMBER!! :D
Marks the start of the Christmas month!

YAY CHRISTMAS!
It's my favourite favourite time of the year!

Not for the presents,
but just the amazing peaceful feeling I get,
when Christmas comes around.

Do you guys feel it too? :)

Housecleaning #2

I made an email account just for this blog,
so if you guys have any enquiries or feedback,
[Ideas on what I should post are welcome too!]
you can contact me here. :)

lavenderapplewoods(at)hotmail.com

[Removed the @ so I won't get spammed]
[I'll be placing it at the sidebar too]

You know, a Youtuber once said,
that she received lots of hatemail,
and she reckoned for every 10,000 fans, you get 1 hater.

Well!
It looks like I'm not gonna get any hatemail soon,
so I'm pretty safe for awhile. :)

Next,
as you can see in the sidebar,
I've cleaned up

1. My links to my friends' blogs

I thought that I should update it,
since those have been around for a couple of years,
and most of them aren't in use anymore.

If you're wondering why my Archives only show March 2010 onwards,
it's because I deleted the posts before that.
Fresh start, right? :)

[Well.. Not so fresh now,
but it's progressing well!
]

2. Wishlist

Yeah.. Haven't updated those in a year or so,
hence refreshing is required!

[*hints* Christmas!]

I kid!

One last thing before I go,
Edge Conference is tomorrow!
Awesomeeeeee

Three foreign delegates will be staying at my house,
till it ends.
Doubly awesomeeee

me: Hey, there'll be 3 foreign delegates coming
to stay at our house tomorrow.
sister: Okay?
me: Guess which country they're from!!
sister: ...Slovania.
me: ... I'll give you a hint. Yesterday. Starts with 'S'.
[Two Sri Lankan women came to have dinner with us yesterday]
sister: ...Slovania.

....

Okay! ;)
I've still got a post on the remaining stuff I did in the 14 days,
I knoww it's been so long since I promised,
but it's a picture post,
so I reckon I should place it in between worded posts,
so you won't have to look at the same stuff all the time.

And with that,
I'll leave/see that post/YOU till next time!

If you're wondering why it says 30th November,
it's because I wrote it on 1st December in my timezone.
Tried to repost it a day later,
realised that Blogger wouldn't allow it. Sorry!

I was feeling down this afternoon.

When I left the exam hall,
I felt so thoroughly disappointed with myself.

So on the way home,
just to make myself feel better,
I took a bus I don't usually take,
dropped off at a random stop,
and walked in the general direction of civilization I hoped I would recognise.

The walk and fresh post-rain air cleared my head,
and by the time I stepped into the train station,
I decided to just leave everything in God's hands.

Of course,
that didn't mean that I FELT entirely better,
so I got Carls Junior's Original Thickburger.

YUMMM.

I'm all cheery now!

What else is beef for?
You've got ice-cream, I've got beef. ;)

Of course,
God played the biggest part in making me feel better.
As always. :)

On a side note,
I was getting take-away for my siblings,
cue dude at the counter,

"Can I help you?"

"Uhm.. Yeah, can I have an Original Thickburger please.
COMBO. LARGE. OH. And cheesefries!!
OH OH. AND CHICKEN FINGERS..thing.
...
OH AND ONE MORE SMALL FRIES. Please?
"

"Uhm.. Eating here?"

"No...YES"

No! Of course not!
Lol! How can I finish that all by myself!

It went along the lines of that,
but the insanity in my head played it up a lil bit.

And with that,
I should go do my Math now.

Hmmm.
Math at 12.30am.

Something's definitely wrong with me.

こんにちは!
[Kon'nichiwa!]

How was your Thanksgiving?
Good?
Positively yummy?

Well,
my family had our first Thanksgiving!

It wasn't that fancy or anything,
and we replaced turkey with chicken.. :S
[Blame ColdStorage!]
But the dinner was still good,
and I think my family enjoyed it,
so yay! :D

This post is a housecleaning one,

[housecleaning = stuff I've been meaning to tell you but haven't/couldn't]

my exams are in 2 days!

So..

You know how I should be studying?
And my studying time should be
inversely proportionate with blog posts?
Yeah,
it's actually probably gonna be directly proportionate instead.

So you can expect posts everyday,
with absolutely no interesting content in it at all,
just because EVERYTHING seems
SO much more fascinating than studying at the moment!

Have blogs changed their definition and I didn't get the memo?

I don't know if you guys noticed,
[You probably did, BUT I DIDN'T, HAVEN'T]
I never knew the existence of the "Next Blog >" button,
because as you can see,
my blogskin doesn't follow the standardised format.

So..
Recently, I started checking out other people's blogs,
and I found the button, SO,
I clicked, and clicked, and clicked.. And clicked.

And after approximately 50 clicks or so,
I realised that there are 4 types of blogs:

1) Family
[You know, couples with babies or children and they blog about their daily lives]

2) Art

3) Advertisement

4) "How-to"
[You know, like How-to do this, that..]

And honestly..
The demographic is usually 25 and above.

I'm not saying that their blogs are not nice,
[Except for the ads.. :S]
it's just that I'm shocked that there aren't more..
Youthful bloggers!
[Wow, I just realised how sensitive talking about age is.]

And for no apparant reason at all,
it really stressed/stresses me out!

Blogger.com should really make up a demographic chart of its bloggers.
Like.. Seriously,
other than the people I know who blog,
who else is nineteen out there?

Once again, I'm not saying that there's anything wrong,
posting at ages 25 and up,
most of the blogs are nice to read too,
I'm just shocked that really,
so far of all the random blogs I've gone to,
ALL of it are by people aged 25 and up.

Or maybe I'm just not that lucky.

Un-lucky fingers! Aha!

I'm sorry guys,
I know this is unusual for me to post something like that,
but it really got to me,
so I just had to get it off my chest.

Guess who I found under the taaable~!

Happy Thanksgiving!!
Killed a turkey today? :)

LOL, being disturbing today, are we?

In my country,
we don't celebrate Thanksgiving.
Imagine how disappointing it was to go to Cold Storage,
and find out that they only sell raw turkeys.

Who wants raw turkeys?
I want my turkeys de-feathered and cooked!
[There's no such word as de-feathered btw,
Yeah, Rachel's fabulous dictionary of non-existing words.
]

So I was in a joyful mood today,
[before I found Cold Storage's cache of raw turkeys]
and sent out this text

"HAPPY THANKSGIVING!! Gimme my turkey!!"

And the lovable people who replied:

Friend 1 - "Haa.. Draw you one."

Friend 2 - "Haha what the. It's in the oven."

AUNT - "Chew your own Turkey."
[LOL WHAT ON EARTH?!]

Friend 3 - "Who are you??"
[EPIC]
To which he replies ..
"What turkey? You mean bowling, 3 strikes in a row Haha"
[Which apparently, he was joking,
but I like to think he doesn't know what turkey means.
]

Friend 4 - "Haha. I'll pass you a BIG rotting one, how's that?"
[So I said,"Aren't you supposed to be a gentleman?"]
And of course, being my friend,
he replied,"Haha. I'll promise to pass the rotting turkey to you gently, how's that?"

Aren't my friends just the lovable ones?

So I highly recommend, just for your own entertainment,
to send that out, and see who actually replies and what the replies are.

And if it's awesome, post it in the tagboard,
cause well, the love needs to be shared right?

Alrighhht!

Let's end this Thanksgiving post with a video, aite?

I hoped that one of the Youtubers I subscribed to would make a video just for Thanksgiving,
but I guess they're too busy killing turkeys.

So.. This one's pretty good too.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1CndP1fYC0M

I'm quite sure some of you have seen it though,
it was in year 2007 and it had 1,710,170 views.

[Nice number!]

I'm quite sure one of YOU guys were part of those
"1,710,170" views.

Finally,

have fun,
celebrate with your family,
and get some turkeyyyyy.

Turquie.. And out!

Psst! If you're wondering why I'm talking a little sarcastically today,
I'M BLAMING CHUGGAACONROY.

I got my mid-sem grades back today!
And I must say, they were pretty decent!

Of course,
how could I have gotten these grades without my best bud! :D

So all credit goes to You, Jesus! :D
Thank you thank you thank you!!

Right!
I said I would talk about my missing 14 days.
Let's talk about the first 9 days okay?
[1 week + Sunday, Monday :D]

So.. That was the week I had to hand in all of my assigments.
Which meant: 2 videos, 2 presentations, 3 reports.
All in ONE week.

Hmm.. A little bit crazy, yeah.

I had to stay over at my groupmates' place for most of the week,
so I guess I was glad I had media fast at that point in time.

Everything went pretty smoothly till the last assignment.
There was miscommunication,
added on with frustration that was built over the week,
and you have a perfect recipe for disaster.
Well, almost.

So we got really mad at each other..
One of us wanted to report this and that..
Mind you, the consequences would have been suspension,
or being retained at the very least.

We didn't do anything serious,
it's just a peer evaluation thing,
which could lead to serious problems when dealt inappropriately.

So at the end of the first week,
I was REALLY upset with my group.

But.. God was really good to me,
and He placed in my heart to read Joseph's lifestory,
and I did.

And I remember writing in my diary,
[Cause media fast brings me back to the good ole days eh?]
with Christian songs playing in the background,

"Even though Joseph went through so much, God was with Him.

I hope God is with me.
"

And the moment I finished that sentence,
this lyric played out.

"Cause I know that, deep down You're here with me."
- Nothing is Impossible by Planetshakers

WOW. Right?

And my devotion that night said that the tide was turning,
that God was with me,
and I just needed to hold on and have faith.

DOUBLE WOW.

And to top everything off,
the sermons that following day [Sunday] were about that,
and going through the storms of life.

Sweeeet~!
I KNOW, RIGHT?

So on Monday,
well my group members decided to just drop the entire matter,
without any reason.

How awesome is God?

And that sums up most of the drama I went through during those 14 days.
I did other stuff too, which I'll post another day.

But this is what God did for me at that time,
and I was really really grateful.

Still am. ;)

Alright!
This post is long enough!

See you in 2 days or so! :D

Warning: Picture post ahead!

Hello!
Did you guys miss me?

Guess where I went over the weekend?

That's right!

UNIVERSAL STUDIOS!!
I was there with my friends on Saturday,
and the last time I went was.. When I was 9.

It's been a decade since I stepped onto Universal ground,
and gosh, was I dazzled!

Walking in.. I saw

While I'm not a big fan of Hershey's,
chocolate men are exciting enough on blogs. ;)

Neon lighting is so retro! Lovely! :D

Why must Chinese restaurants' signages have
that one particular font, be in red,
and have dragons? Hmm...

I rest my case. Lol

Anyway,
Universal Studios had a fireworks event,
and they were all so pretty!

Cannons in the night!

Grand finale! :D

On our way out,
tried my hand at flash light art! :D

Not very good, I know.
Always remember, I'm only a nub. ;)

Last but not least,
a Christmas tree to put us in a Christmas-y mood for the holidays! :D

See you in 2 days or so! :D

Today is my granddad's 3rd death anniversary.

I went to visit his grave with my family today.
I don't know if other families act the same way,
but for some reason,
we never really cry.

Well we did, the first few times we visited him in the first year,
but then we kinda got over it because we knew,
he's in heaven without his wheelchair!

Well..
I never really knew my grandfather,
basically because he had multiple strokes,
which led him to being unable to talk.. much.

We couldn't take him to many places too,
because of the strokes, he was bound to a wheelchair.

And I really regret, actually,
not spending more time with him,
learning from him and just talking to him.

He must have been so bored..

I don't know much about him,
I know that he was strict, really really strict.
That he would box my uncles and aunts' ears,
if they were rude or something.
So they grew up with the right values, so I guess that's okay.

I know that after he came to Christ,
he became a great man of faith,
and a prayer warrior.

Actually.. I think none of us alive today,
in my family, can compare to him in terms of,
faith, prayer and willpower.

He went to God first thing,
when he sighted any trouble.
He clung to God,
through his strokes and just believed.

It was all..
"No buts, nuff said, just believe."

I wish I had that.

I miss him.

Hello everyone!

*disclaimer alert:
I don't know how to put this diplomatically,
but you'll probably find me creepy after this. Lol!*

I know I said that I would talk about my missing 14 days,
but I've decided to talk about ONE Youtube person in particular..
[..Do you call them Youtube people? Sounds weird, but idk.]

Actually, I got this idea today from
charlieissocoollike,
because he recently did "The Liker Chain" video,
and it's basically a video talking about Youtubers
[Ah, that's the name for them!]
whom we like but aren't really known?

I think so.

So anyway,
it's really more of a video response thing,
but I don't do videos.
Why?

Another story, for another post. ;)

ANYWAY,
are you ready for that special person?!

*DRUMROLLS*

It's... CHUGGAACONROY!!!!

[Well, he pronounces it as CHUGGAA-conroy,
but shouldn't it be CHUGGA-A-CONROY? I don't know. :S
]

So..
Yeah, he was the Youtuber I really missed during my Media Fast.
[Not even communitychannel, I know!]
[And Natalie is waayy HIGH up on my list!]

So why him?

Weellllll...

Lemme tell you our history.

I first met him when I saw
Super Luigi Galaxy episode 34 as a Featured Video.

The end.

OKAY OKAY,
lame jokes aside,

That first bit was true,
and I used to play Mario when I was young,
you know, that really old Nintendo one with pixelated bricks.

So.. I really liked Super Luigi Galaxy [SLG] episode 34,
and when I started my SLG journey with him,
it was a match made in heaven ~

LOL CREEPY.

No, but serious,
I fell in love with his voice,
and now when I can afford the time,
I sit in my dark room..
eating Chocolate Mint ice cream..
waiting to hear..

"HEY EVERYBODY! IT'S CHUGGAACONROY!!
Welcome back to more Let's Play Super Luigi Galaxy..
IN THE LAST EPISODE..!!
"

AND, that's why I placed the disclaimer right there.
Do you find me creepy yet? Lool

Well, I don't think that many people know about him?
Except for those who play the games and stuff..
So does that make me nerdy? I don't know.

But I've only seen SLG.
I don't really like the other games,
and I'll probably cry when I get to SLG the Finale,
but I'll comfort myself with Pikman after that.

I know, I know,
I probably sound nerdy and creepy right now.
[Maybe I should add that to the disclaimer.]

But that's okay,
nerds are cool. ;)

Oh dear,
I've just realised this post has gone on long enough.

Right!
So I'll end this with SLG episode 1's link below..

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9olvSnGn9sg

There.
It's the intro of SLG..

..And I'm gonna leave you guys to watch it now.

Till next time!

bonjour tout le monde!

I know I haven't written anything in a long time,
now you guys know I wouldn't abandon you
for 14 days without a good reason!

As some of you know..
I LOVE Youtube.
So I was kinda devastated when I had to give it up.
And basically, my reaction was..

"NOOOO COMMUNITYCHANNEL... Whyyyyy"

AND, during the week,
my family had to torture me by watching tv when I was around..

*during dinner*

"The Witch has denounced her claim on Edmund."

*sinks head into hands*
[NOOO.. CHRONICLES OF NARNIA *cries on the inside*]

So, what made me refrain
from Youtube and TV?

Well,
two words. Media Fast!

Media Fast = The art of staying away from unnecessary web activites e.g Facebook

[Lol, it's an art alright!]

Anyway,
the youth of my church were carrying out Media Fast..
And it started on the 1st and ended on the 14th of November.
Now, I would have alerted you guys,
if not for the fact that I was told abruptly.. After it had started.

Sides,
You guys needed a break from me anyway. :3

Nevertheless,
I'm back now!

So gimme a couple of posts to get my awesomeness back in,
[My, I've lost my touch!]
and I'll tell you what I did for the past 14 days.

Till next time!

PSSSSTTTTT!! Guess what I found when I got back!!
36 VIDEOS!! HERE I COME, YOUTUBE!
