Pretty pretty Lights

Net Rally!
[Fast forward to right below for the Net Rally part!]
The theme: Lights

I'm glad I can finally use these!
Mighty pleased they looked great too! :)

Warning: Long, long post ahead!

Yesterday,
it was quite troubling in the afternoon.
I don't really know how to tell you guys,
but it feels like I'm a pillar,
and I almost crumbled into millions of pieces.

It's not that anything happened.
In fact, NOTHING happened at all!
It's just months of holding the weight of criticism,
among other things.

I'm sure you guys know how it feels!

So I decided to go to a park,
and try to cycle my way out of it.

That's right, in my jeans.
Hahaha

And yes, what you thought was right.
I was the only one wearing jeans.

But that's besides the point.
So I dumped my wallet and a waterbottle in the basket,
got my iPod plugged,
and off I was, bumping with my items in the potholes and stuff.
Haha, how can I phrase this..

From one end of the park to the other,
people just stared at me,
probably not only because of my jeans,
but because I was laughing..
[Creep alert!]
And I was alone.

I still can't forget that feeling,
you know of like, all those months slipping away...
Of feeling liberated, with the wind in my hair,
..like I was flying!
[And definitely not caring what other people said]

Also,
just being able to appreciate what God created as nature,
it just didn't get any better than this!

When I was done,
I was still flushed in the face,
flushed with happiness, that is.

The only fly in the ointment was,
I think I broke my earphones, lool.
It must have been all that bumping,
I kid you not,
when I say that when I BUMPED,
I literally saw all my items jump ABOVE the basket,
and right back in.

DON'T TRY THIS IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT CD-ROM MEANS.

I tried to 'fix' it by bending wires I couldn't see.
I know, stupid.
Yes yes, it got worse.

They were a pair of Ultimate Ears too. :S

On the bright side,
now I don't have to care if it's gonna be potentially broken.
It's already broken! :D
[Loose circuit]

So guys, what lessons have we learnt today?

1) When you cycle, remember to:

A) Not use your earphones
B) Use a pair of broken ones
C) Those that cost way cheaper than your pair of UE. *cries*

But more importantly,

2) When you're down, slow down and do what you think would help relax you!
Whether it's reading a book,
running as though your life depended on it,
or praying to God,
I'm sure you know yourself best. :)

Of course,
there were still lots of doubt,
and a fragment of sadness left.
But God sent my aunt to talk to me,
and it was EXACTLY what I needed to hear!

Scroll back up to the picture,
I had a Net Rally tonight!

[Net Rally = Wonderful time of fellowship with my church friends who were in the region I lived]

We played this game,
where everyone exchanged cards and wrote something positive about each other.
When I got my card back,
I saw lots of things which I never attributed myself to,
in fact, I thought I was quite the opposite.

I'm not being negative.
I'm happy that people can see things in me that I can't!

Lemme tell you a short story.
[It's from a manga I read long ago, Fruits Basket]

Let's say you're an おにぎり [Onigiri = Rice Ball]

Sometimes we question ourselves..
"Why am I not good at sports?
Why can't I be good at Math, like he is?
" etc etc

But the Onigiri usually has a little surprise in its back.

[Ignore the hand, and click the link! It's a recipe for Onigiri! :3]

Often times, it's the 梅干し[Umeboshi = pickled plum].
It's usually the tasty/best part of the rice ball.

So if we = Onigiri,
then we obviously won't be able to see the Umeboshi on our back, right?
And since it's good, the whole meaning is that,
we might not be able to see the good parts in us,
but other people can.

Each and every one of us is created differently,
so don't be too harsh on yourself!

Sides, that's what our lifelong partners are for!
To complement each other! :)

I shall end this post now!
Thank you for enduring such a long one,
and I hope you enjoyed it!

A très bientôt!
